Kathy Xu

Kathy Xu currently studies at the University of Fribourg (LL.M. in International Contracts and Arbitration). She graduated from Shanghai University (LLM) in 2018 and is granted the lawyer license in China. She has a few years of practicing experience in the legal industry and speaks English and Chinese as her main working languages. Her main practicing areas are cross-border investment, corporate and M&A, international trade and related international dispute resolution.

In the field of corporate and M&A, she has assisted many Chinese enterprises in their investments and acquisitions in Switzerland, Europe and Africa, and also provided corporate governance legal services to many foreign enterprises and joint ventures.

In the field of dispute resolution, she has represented both state-owned and private enterprises in initiating arbitration against foreign enterprises or foreign governmental departments at arbitration institutions such as ICC and SIAC, as well as representing a number of foreign companies in arbitration proceedings at CIETAC.

Based on her understanding of the business environment and legal systems in China and Switzerland, she can provide pragmatic and effective solutions for foreign companies investing in China as well as Chinese companies investing in Switzerland. She could provide strong support for the protection of the rights and interests of Chinese and foreign clients.
