About
Jean-Pierre Morand studied law at the University of St. Gallen. In 1984, he completed his legal internship at Baker & McKenzie in New York and then in Geneva, where he was admitted to the bar in 1986. From 1988 to 1995, he was part of the management team at the marketing agency Groupe Marc Biver Développement, which became IMG Switzerland in 1993. He returned to the bar in 1995 and in 1997 founded the law firm Legrand, Morand & Partners with Jean-Paul Legrand. Since 2009, he has been a partner at the law firm Carrard & Associés, which became Kellerhals Carrard in 2015. Jean-Pierre Morand specializes in commercial and corporate law, and in sports law. Counsel to several international sports federations and organizers of major events, he is regularly called upon to take part in international arbitration proceedings, including at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Jean-Pierre Morand has chaired the UCI Disciplinary Commission since 2012. Outside the field of sport, he is also a board member at various Swiss companies. He is a member of the Board of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).
