Swiss Post acquires majority stake in Axsana and paves the way for a uniform technical infrastructure for electronic patient records
Together with other parties, Swiss Post wants to pave the way for a uniform technical infrastructure for electronic patient records. To this end, Swiss Post has acquired a 75 percent stake in Axsana, an operating company for electronic patient records. Swiss Post is convinced of the benefits of the electronic patient record (EPR) as the centerpiece of the digitized healthcare system. Today, it supports five providers of the electronic patient record or parent communities in all language regions of Switzerland as a technology partner. Swiss Post develops and provides the technical infrastructure for the parent communities - the engine with which the parent communities can operate electronic patient records and offer it to residents. "With our majority stake in Axsana, we want to give a boost to electronic patient records and further advance digitization in the healthcare sector," says Nicole Burth, member of Swiss Post's Corporate Executive Board and Head of Communications Services. Kellerhals Carrard - Co-Lead Thomas Bähler and Michèle Remund, Kathrin Enderli, Lukas Dellenbach, Daniel Emch (competition law), Philippe Frésard (notarial implementation) - assisted Post CH Kommunikation AG in this transaction. Presse release: Swiss Post plans to acquire a majority shareholding in Axsana
