New Act on the Transparency of Legal Persons (TLPA): Entry into force on 1 October 2026
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 Switzerland’s new transparency regime for legal entities and beneficial owners will enter into force on 1 October 2026.
It requires Swiss companies and certain foreign legal entities to identify, verify, document and report their beneficial owners to a new federal Transparency Register. The transition periods are short, and the reform will also have practical implications for banks, financial intermediaries and advisers.
In our latest newsletter, Prof. Dr. Cornelia Stengel and Lionel Noguera outline the key elements of the TLPA, explain the new obligations for businesses, and provide practical guidance to help organisations prepare.

- Who is affected by the new rules
- What needs to be reported, and by when
- How the Transparency Register will operate
- What businesses should do now to prepare
