Kellerhals Carrard is proud to have advised Sequence SA on obtaining a FINMA FinTech

Deal Ticker: Kellerhals Carrard advises Sequence SA on obtaining one of Switzerland’s few FINMA FinTech license
Kellerhals Carrard is pleased to announce that Sequence SA has been granted a FinTech licence by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA.
With this authorisation, Sequence SA joins a very small group of only five FINMA-licensed FinTech institutions in Switzerland. This regulatory milestone marks an important step in Sequence’s strategic development and underlines Kellerhals Carrard’s strength in combining legal innovation with regulatory precision.
Our FinTech team, led by Prof. Dr. Cornelia Stengel, and further comprising Gaspare Loderer and Manuel Brogli, supported Sequence throughout the licensing process – from structuring and documentation to liaising with FINMA and securing the final approval.
“Securing the FinTech license is a key moment for Sequence and for the Swiss FinTech ecosystem,” says Blas Pegenaute, CEO of Sequence. “Kellerhals Carrard’s team brought the rare combination of deep regulatory insight and pragmatic guidance. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”
This achievement further demonstrates Kellerhals Carrard’s strong position at the intersection of regulation, innovation, and financial market transformation – and why pioneering FinTechs and forward-looking financial institutions continue to place their trust in us.
Congratulations to Sequence SA – and to the team who made it happen!
